New Chairperson Leads 59th BdREN Board of Trustees Meeting
The 59th Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh Research and Education Network was held successfully at the meeting room of the Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh on May 07, 2026.
The meeting marked the inaugural Board Meeting chaired by the Honorable Chairperson of BdREN, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, following his assumption of office. During the meeting, the Chairperson also welcomed three newly appointed Trustee Members to the Board: Prof. Dr. Md. Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Sylhet Medical University; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mashud, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Masroor Ali, Professor at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Vice-Chairperson of BdREN, also welcomed the newly appointed Chairman of UGC and Chairperson of BdREN, Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed.
The Board discussed contemporary operational issues of BdREN and explored strategic directions for strengthening BdREN’s role as a key national institution supporting the country’s education, research, and innovation initiatives.
