The announcement was made at a day-long workshop titled "Expert Opinion on UGC-ERP Software Architecture and Design" held at the UGC auditorium on May 19, 2025. The ERP software will be developed under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project and is expected to streamline and automate academic, research, accreditation, project proposals, financial management, and institutional profiling activities across UGC and universities.

Professor Dr. S.M.A. Faiz, Chairman of UGC, graced the workshop as the Chief Guest. The session was presided over by UGC Member Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, while UGC Member Professor Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan attended as the Special Guest. Other distinguished speakers included UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, ICT Director Md.
