The International Workshop on Safeguarding Research & Education Network has kicked off today at the Long Beach Hotel in Cox's Bazar. This significant event has gathered a diverse group of 40 participants, including engineers from both public and private universities, the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), as well as representatives from Nepal REN (NREN) and Sri Lanka REN (LEARN). BdREN is also represented by one of its network engineers. The workshop aims to enhance the skills and knowledge necessary for safeguarding research and education networks. Two expert trainers from the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) are leading the training sessions. The event is organized through a joint collaboration between Asi@Connect and BdREN, highlighting the international cooperation in strengthening digital infrastructure and cybersecurity measures in the region. Participants will engage in comprehensive training modules, discussions, and hands-on activities designed to bolster network security and ensure the robustness of educational and research institutions' digital frameworks.
