BdREN and Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PSTU) sign agreement for “Campus Network Maintenance” and “IP Transit Services”
In a significant development for Bangladesh Research and Education Network, a formal agreement was signed on September 14, 2023, between the BdREN and Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PSTU). This agreement outlines BdREN's commitment to undertake the maintenance of PSTU's Campus Network, further enhancing the university's technological infrastructure. The signing ceremony took place at the office of the university's Vice Chancellor, with Professor Dr. Swadesh Chandra Samanta, the honorable Vice Chancellor, himself presiding over the event.
The primary objective of this agreement is to ensure the efficient maintenance and enhancement of PSTU's Campus Network, contributing to the university's digital connectivity and technological capabilities.
The second agreement covers the crucial aspect of BdREN's commitment to providing IP Transit and other associated services to PSTU which will help the university to have reliable [99.50% availability] and high-speed internet connectivity, facilitating research, online learning, and administrative tasks.
Prof Mohammad Ali, Treasurer of Patuakhali Science and Technology University, signed the agreement on behalf of PSTU, emphasizing the university's commitment to providing students and faculty with state-of-the-art technological resources for a fully-fledged digital transformation. On behalf of BdREN, Mr. Mohammad Tawrit, the Chief Executive Officer, signed the agreement, reaffirming BdREN's dedication to supporting its member institutes in helping the latter achieve their objectives.
The signing ceremony was attended by other distinguished individuals, including Professor Dr. Santosh Kumar Bose, Registrar of PSTU, and Md. Ariful Islam, Manager (Data and Transmission) of BdREN. Their presence underscored the importance of this collaboration in advancing the technological capabilities of Patuakhali Science and Technology University. This partnership signifies a significant step forward in BdREN’s ongoing efforts to enhance the IT infrastructure of the universities.
