BdREN and BSMRAU Sign Contract for IP Telephony Service
A contract was signed between BdREN and BSMRAU on 05 April 2023 at the Vice-Chancelor’s Office in BSMRAU, Salna, Gazipur. The contract was signed by Honorable Treasurer, BSMRAU and CEO, BdREN from respective sides.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance unified communication infrastructure within academic environments. Under this contract, BdREN will provide the connectivity of IP Telephony service using its MPLS backbone along with 500 cisco IP phones. The IP Telephony service will leverage Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, enabling BSMRAU to make phone calls using the internet instead of traditional phone lines. This digital transformation will enhance communication efficiency, reduce costs, and provide advanced features such as call forwarding, conference calling, voicemail, and more.
This partnership between BDREN and BSMRAU signifies a significant step toward embracing modern communication technologies in the academic sector of Bangladesh. It reinforces BDREN's commitment to transforming educational institutions into smart campuses equipped with cutting-edge digital infrastructure.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Professor Dr. Md. Giashuddin Miah, Vice-Chancellor, BSMRAU; Prof. Dr. Md. Abiar Rahman, Director, IQAC, BSMRAU; Md. Ahiduzzaman, Additional Director, Planning & Development, BSMRAU; Md. Shirajul Islam Talukder, Registrar, BSMRAU; Mohammed Akram Hossain, System Analyst, ICT Cell, BSMRAU; Md. Ariful Islam, Manager (Data and Transmission), BdREN, Mr. Shamim Ahmed Network Engineer (NOC), BdREN and other distinguished faculty members.
Honorable Vice-Chancellor expressed his expectation that the amicable relationship between BSMRAU and BdREN will be strengthened through signing of this contract and will allow BdREN in extending additional services even beyond the purview of the contract.
