BdREN organizes ‘Meet and Greet’ Workshop
The much anticipated first phase of the meet and greet workshop was held on August 10, 2022 at the UGC auditorium. 80+ representatives from different universities and Research Institutes and the University Grants Commission joined the event. The acting Chairman of UGC and Vice Chairperson of BdREN Prof. Dr. Dil Afroza Begum graced the event as the chief guest with her colleagues Prof. Dr. Abu Taher, Member, UGC and Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, member, UGC as special guests.
The event was inaugurated with a welcoming speech from Mohammad Tawrit, Chief Executive Officer, BdREN. Then, two special guests imparted their valuable speech which caught much attention of the audience. Following that, Prof. Dr. Dil Aforza Begum delivered her rhetoric speech as the chief guest. She narrated the vision of BdREN with the associated challenges that need to be overcome to achieve those. She also urged the representatives from member institutes to support BdREN with proper utilization of its resources, timely payment of BdREN bills etc.
In the later session, CEO-BdREN gave a detailed presentation where he demonstrated the inception of BdREN, its operational and financial mechanism, and the future funding needed to replace and upgrade its existing devices and network. Later, Dr. Mohammad Farooq Ali Tarafder DCMA, ACS, CAFO, BdREN outlined how BdREN generates revenue and bears its expenditure.
The session continued, with the presentation from Industry expert Mr. Suman Ahmed Sabir, the Chief Technical Officer, Fiber@home where he explained how IPv6 increases the efficiency of a network and how it is being adopted across the globe. Country’s one of the most acclaimed motivational speaker Mr. Solaiman Shukhon, the Chief Public Affairs Officer, Nagad, then, energized everyone with his agile presence on the floor. He conducted a quiz session with the assistance of Mr. Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed, the Chief Technical officer, BdREN where the participants with correct answers were awarded prizes.
In the concluding session, the participants shared their thoughts and suggestions for BdREN.
The workshop was organized aiming to meet and greet the respected representatives from the reputed current and potential member institutes as well as to share ideas among the participants for better cooperation and collaboration in future, which was centrally coordinated by the Chief Technical Officer, BdREN.
