Study Tour at BdREN Data Center by the Final Year Students' of Department of CSE, KUET
Khulna University of Engineering and Technology organized an Industrial visit to Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) located in UGC Bhaban, Agargaon Industrial Area, Dhaka-1207 on November 5 2022 for the final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. BdREN being a premier Network and Cloud Based service provider for Universities and Research Institutes that offers a full range of services including Network as a service, Infrastructure as a service, Platform as a service and Software as a service. This visit was coordinated by Mr. Md. Abdul Aziz, Asst. Professor, Department of CSE and Mr. Md. Shahidul Salim, Lecturer, Department of CSE with 31 final students of CSE department, KUET. The students were welcomed at the UGC Auditorium. The program started with a brief video presentation of the organization profile by the organization personnel. Then Mr. Khandakar Rashedul Arefin gave a short lecture on Data Center Architecture and Data Center of BdREN. After that, the students visited the tier three Data Center of BdREN. Students have learned about Network, Computation and Storage of a Data Center. They have also learned about the power system, UPS, Generator and Air-Cooling system in the Data Center. Then they visited the BdREN Network Operation Center and learned about monitoring and event response procedure. After that, the students enjoyed their buffet lunch. The session ended with an insightful speech from Mohammad Tawrit, CEO, BdREN. Overall, it was a great knowledge session, knowledge transfer happened from both sides. Students learned different aspects of the corporate world, technical and non-technical.
