Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) is the NREN of Bangladesh. It is established under a project of Ministry of Education funded by World Bank. Implementing agency of this project is University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. UGC/BdREN is a member of TEIN since 2012. BdREN has a good technical team of professionally skilled network engineers which makes it very much competent for hosting such workshop events with the collaboration of TEIN*CC and in association with Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) of University of Oregon, USA.
Train University network engineering staffs on how to develop a strategic design plan for their campus network.Provide implementation of best practices in campus network design, with particular emphasis on different network layers.Develop technical skills among the campus network engineers on different techniques of campus network operation, management and monitoring.
On completion of the training program the Trainees will:
⇒ Have an advanced level of knowledge on TCP/IP Networking.
⇒ Be able to design basic Campus LAN.
⇒ Know the art of configuring VLAN, Intra VLAN packet Forwarding and Inter-VLAN packet Routing.
⇒ Be able to configure and troubleshoot different Exterior and Interior Routing Protocols.
⇒ Master the art of doing the Traffic Engineering for different services used in Campus LAN and do appropriate designing on that basis.
The proposed 5-day long training course will include all the major topics and issues involving planning, designing, deploying and managing campus networks. The course is designed with the necessary theories, best-practices and hands-on-lab sessions in a multidimensional learning. The training program will be followed by an Evaluation program to choose the successful candidates who will be awarded with the certificate. The course in brief will be as besides:
POST TRAINING DEVELOPMENT
Among 34 public universities in Bangladesh, 15 universities have already commenced their campus networks. Design and implementation of the campus network in the rest 19 public universities is going on under the guidance of BdREN. Therefore, knowledge of campus network design and operations would be highly beneficial for the professionals working in university to design, implement and maintain robust campus network. Trained engineers would be able to contribute to the campus network design following industry standards and best practices
The workshop is targeted for the network professionals and campus network engineers from different universities as well as R&E network practitioners in Bangladesh.
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:
Total 36 participants from Higher Education Institutions of Bangladesh.
WORKSHOP CONDUCTED BY:
